Tandang Sora National High School (TSNHS) conducted its organizational meeting for the Home Room Parent-Teacher Association (HRPTA), Grade Level Parent-Teacher Association (GrPTA), and School Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA) on June 27, 2026, at the school’s covered court.

Dr. Lorna C. Mendoza, Principal II, led the assembly by outlining several new school policies aimed at improving school security and environmental sustainability. Some of these initiatives include the implementation of a new hall pass system, a mandate for the use of tumblers to reduce plastic waste, and stricker bag inspections.

She also highlighted the school’s commitment to leaners welfare through “Tatak Sora,” a research-based Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support (PBIS) program that fosters discipline through positive reinforcement.

“Kaya gagawin namin ang lahat ng mekanismo upang masigurado na sila ay ligtas,” Dr. Mendoza stated.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Karen Besinga, Math Teacher III and Khan Academy Coordinator, introduced the Khan Academy app as a key resource for learners, particularly during class suspensions.

She clarified that the tool is intended to support, not replace, traditional instruction. “Dito, ang AI ay gagamiting guide sa pag-aaral,” Mrs. Besinga said.

Additionally, Mr. Lorenzo C. Buenaventura, Head Teacher III for Valued Education, emphasized the school’s strict enforcement of the proper dress code.

Following this, Mrs. Carmel Portia Cruz, EsP teacher, provided an orientation on the Department of Education’s Learner Protection Policy to ensure parents are well-aware in the protections given to children, including those categorized as Children at Risk (CAR) and Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL).

After the general assembly, parents proceeded to their respective classrooms to conduct the HRPTA elections.

The election of new SPTA officers was then facilitated by Dr. Maria Teresa Salcedo-Grant, TLE Head Teaher VI, alongside Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) adviser Mr. Jay Quirante, Mrs. Roselyn Cruz, AP Master Teacher and Ms. Jamaica Directo, AP Teacher.

NAGSAGAWA NG PANGKALAHATANG ASEMBLIYA NG PTA ANG TSNHS; PINATIBAY ANG MGA PATAKARAN NG PAARALAN

 

Nagsagawa ang Tandang Sora National High School (TSNHS) ng reorganisasyonal na pagpupulong ng Home Room Parent-Teacher Association (HRPTA), Grade Level Parent-Teacher Association (GrPTA), at School Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA) noong Hunyo 27, 2026, sa covered court ng paaralan.

Pinangunahan ni Dr. Lorna C. Mendoza, Punongguro II, ang pangkalahatang asembliya kung saan inilahad niya ang mga bagong patakaran ng paaralan na naglalayong higit pang mapatatag ang seguridad at maisulong ang pangangalaga sa kalikasan. Kabilang dito ang pagpapatupad ng bagong hall pass system, obligadong paggamit ng tumbler upang mabawasan ang paggamit ng plastik, at mas mahigpit na inspeksiyon ng mga bag ng mga mag-aaral.

Binigyang-diin din niya ang patuloy na pagpapatupad ng programang “Tatak Sora,” isang pananaliksik na nakabatay sa Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support (PBIS) na naglalayong malinang ang disiplina ng mga mag-aaral sa pamamagitan ng positibong pagpapatibay.

“Kaya gagawin namin ang lahat ng mekanismo upang masigurado na sila ay ligtas,” ani Dr. Mendoza.

Samantala, ipinakilala ni Gng. Karen Besinga, Guro III sa Matematika at Khan Academy Coordinator, ang Khan Academy bilang mahalagang kasangkapan sa pagkatuto ng mga mag-aaral, lalo na sa panahon ng suspensiyon ng mga klase.

Nilinaw niyang hindi layunin ng aplikasyon na palitan ang tradisyunal na pagtuturo kundi magsilbing karagdagang gabay sa pagkatuto. “Dito, ang AI ay gagamiting guide sa pag-aaral,” saad ni Gng. Besinga.

Bukod dito, tinalakay ni G. Lorenzo C. Buenaventura, Head Teacher III ng Values Education, ang mahigpit na pagpapatupad ng tamang kasuotan o dress code sa loob ng paaralan.

Nagbigay rin si Gng. Carmel Portia Cruz, guro sa Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao (EsP), ng oryentasyon hinggil sa Learner Protection Policy ng Kagawaran ng Edukasyon upang higit na maunawaan ng mga magulang ang mga karapatan at proteksiyong ipinagkakaloob sa mga mag-aaral, kabilang ang mga itinuturing na Children at Risk (CAR) at Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL).

Matapos ang pangkalahatang asembliya, nagtungo ang mga magulang sa kani-kanilang silid-aralan upang isagawa ang halalan ng mga opisyal ng HRPTA.

Isinunod naman ang halalan ng mga bagong opisyal ng SPTA sa pangunguna ni Dr. Maria Teresa Salcedo-Grant, Head Teacher VI sa TLE, katuwang sina G. Jay Quirante, tagapayo ng Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), Gng. Roselyn Cruz, Master Teacher sa Araling Panlipunan, at Bb. Jamaica Directo, guro sa Araling Panlipunan.
